Adidas brought in comic book duo Rick and Morty to promote the new X Speedportal football boots.
In the campaign video, created by TBWA\Neboko and produced by the creators of the animation, scientist Rick wakes up his grandson Morty telling him he will become a ‘football star’ through new football boots and takes him to the lab, where the player Mohammed Salah transfers his ‘dribbling and shooting’ skills and Vivianne Miedema transfers his ‘attack and speed’ powers to Morty via a pair of Adidas football boots.
As he puts on his boots, Rick transports Morty, along with the players, to an ‘Unlicensed International Cup’ game, where his grandson scores a goal and wins the ‘Best Player on Earth’ award.
The X Speedportal boot arrived in Brazil this Tuesday (19), in Portal Fluid Green and is being sold on the brand’s website.
