Theme has buzzed the net; in the first half there were more than 44 million tweets
Twitter announced this Wednesday (20) that it is launching a tab to address the elections. The news is available in ‘Explore’ and will curate information, seeking to contextualize the issues and offering content from reliable sources. The ‘Moments’, which has subjects with great repercussion, also participates in the action.
Some states in the country will also receive specific tabs so voters can follow information on the platform, including media tweets and live content. Among them, Amazonas, Bahia, Ceará, Goiás, Minas Gerais, Paraná, Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul and São Paulo.
The actions are part of the platform’s initiatives to build a healthier environment in this year’s elections in the face of polarization and the spread of fake news. It also reinforces the commitment to the agreements made with the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), which has demanded a firmer performance of the tools.
The agency will even ask questions about the electoral process in question and answer sessions with pre-determined topics, from the @TSEJusBR profile.
Another partnership is with the social network Politize, an organization that works with political education. The entity will provide, as of August, an automated service to answer voters’ questions.
According to the platform, conversations about the 2022 elections are already very busy. In the first half of the year, 44 million tweets were recorded in Brazil on the topic.
