The new configuration is available from this Thursday (21) on Android and iOS devices for some users
Facebook announced the creation of the “Feeds” tab so that users can more easily follow the posts of their friends, Pages and groups. Using the feature, they can add a list of friends and pages they are most interested in seeing to publications. With the movement, the main tab, which appears when opening the application, was renamed “Home”.
The new configuration is available from this Thursday (21) on Android and iOS devices for some users and, according to the company, should be released globally next week.
“One of the most requested features for Facebook is making sure people don’t miss friends’ posts,” Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, wrote in announcing the changes in a Facebook post.
“So today we’re launching a Feeds tab where you can see posts from your friends, groups, pages and more separately in chronological order. The app will still open in a custom feed on the Home tab where our discovery engine will recommend the content we think is most important to you. But the Feeds tab offers a way to further customize and control your experience.”
Despite the speech of greater power to users, the update should boost recommendations generated by algorithms, in a process that tries to contain the damage that TikTok has been causing both to Facebook and to its sister social network, Instagram.
