Audi and Netflix have partnered on the film The Hidden Agent – The Gray Man, in the original English title – which has a global premiere this week through the streaming platform. The Hidden Agent movie was released in select venues around the world on July 15th and will be released globally on Netflix tomorrow (7/22). The film has an all-star cast: Ryan Gosling (Sierra Six), Chris Evans (Lloyd Hansen), Ana de Armas (Dani Miranda), Jessica Henwick (Suzanne Brewer), Regé-Jean Page (Denny Carmichael), Wagner Moura (Laszlo) ), Julia Butters (Claire), Dhanush (Avik San), Billy Bob Thornton (Donald Fitzroy), and Alfre Woodard (Margaret Cahill).
Four Audi models in the spotlight
The 100% electric Audi RS e-tron GT is driven by Sierra Six (Ryan Gosling) and the Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron, also electric, is driven by Agent Dani Miranda (Ana de Armas). The Audi RS 7 Sportback is featured in a chase sequence with Agent Dani Miranda behind the wheel and the Audi R8 Coupé is seen in driving scenes with Avik San (Dhanush).
“This film has a global and intriguing appeal”, says Henrik Wenders, Head of Brand for the brand. It explains the true extent of the automaker’s role in creating production, which went far beyond simply supplying vehicles. He completes:
“This cooperation made us feel the action and high speed. Like the Russo brothers, we at Audi are leveraging technology to create something never seen and experienced before. Audi worked with directors Joe and Anthony Russo on the selection of the new cars. It was fascinating to be partners in this film production and to work in collaboration with Netflix.”
Anthony Russo, director of the film, comments:
“As storytellers, we’ve always been very interested in finding and exploring new technologies to do something that no one has done before. It cheers us up. This kind of approach I would apply to everything, particularly the evolution that is happening with vehicles today. As much as I love cars of the past and today, I’m certainly more interested in where cars go tomorrow. This is a new frontier that will bring us totally new experiences, not only as drivers or consumers, but also as people who coexist with cars.”
After the launch of Netflix, the brand will tell the story behind the Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron in a digital short film where viewers will know how Agent Dani Miranda (Ana De Armas) met her electric car for the first time.
This collaboration between Audi and Netflix will come to life in nearly 30 countries around the world, with global premieres that include the automaker’s all-electric fleet, as well as social and digital activations for fans to further immerse themselves in the world of The Gray Man.
