The Latinidades Festival’s mission is to privilege and highlight the artistic, cultural and intellectual production of black women.
Converse, a supporter of the Latinidades Festival, will promote a debutante ball for young people from the outskirts of the Federal District, in celebration of the event’s 15th anniversary.
This Thursday (21), the festival will bring together 15 girls between 14 and 15 years old to celebrate the maturation of these young women and highlight the possibilities open to them with a feat of professions.
For the ball, the girls will prepare with a day of beauty and care and will get a special look for the parade that will take place at the party. The debutantes will wear the brand’s Chuck Taylor All Star and Chuck 70 models.
The Latinidades Festival’s mission is to privilege and highlight the artistic, cultural and intellectual production of black women and always takes place in the month of July, when, on the 25th, the Afro-Latin American and Caribbean Women’s Day is celebrated.
The event, based in Brasília (DF), is developed by Instituto Afrolatinas with sponsorship of Oi and emerged to strengthen the agenda of this day in Brazil, promoting dialogue, dispute of narratives and strengthening the knowledge of black women in multiple areas, whether in communication , in academia, in social movements or on the street, through the arts and culture.
In this year’s edition, the event returns to the face-to-face format at the Museu Nacional de Brasília, between the 22nd and 24th of July, and will be guided by the tribute to 50 black women in recognition of their contribution to society.
