The city of So Paulo will start to receive the 5G signal as of this Thursday (4), according to Anatel (National Telecommunications Agency). In an interview with the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo, Moiss Queiroz, president of Gaispi, confirmed that telecommunications companies have already authorized 892 antennas for 5G activation.
Until last Friday, the Monitoring Group for the Implementation of Solutions for Interference Problems had placed the capital of São Paulo on the list of capitals to have the approval for the release of the 5G signal Belo Horizonte, João Pessoa and Porto Alegre.
For the State, Queirz said that convening an extraordinary meeting of the group for this Tuesday (2) will formalize the release of the 5G signal.
Pure 5G technology can reach a speed of 10 to 20 Gigabit per second (Gbps), much higher than 4G, where the most powerful networks revolve around 45 Megabits per second (Mbps).
