To me, Brad Pitt is a comedy expert. Much better than in dramas, his performances in films like Burn After Reading and the award-winning Once Upon a Time in Hollywood they are sensational. And it’s no different in Trem-Bala, which opens in theaters this Thursday. Brad is the main actor and the main attraction of the film, which seems to be a mixture of Deadpool, Kill Bill e Murder on the Orient Express. Don’t expect anything too deep, just a fun adventure, full of familiar people, and a breakneck pace. Worth knowing!
The film is based on the book by Kôtarô Isaka. In the story, Ladybug (Brad Pitt) is a thief, and occasional unlucky murderer. His goal is to do his job peacefully after many missions go off the rails. On the verge of giving up on his career, he has a new mission: to collect a suitcase on a bullet train in Japan. The problem is that fate, however, may have other plans. This latest mission from Ladybug puts him on a collision course with lethal adversaries from around the world – all with connected but conflicting objectives. On board are assassins Kimura, Prince, Tangerine and Lemon. On the fastest train in the world, Ladybug is under threat from a bomb, a very poisonous snake, and of course, from its competitors. And he needs to figure out how to get out.
What did I think of Trem-Bala?
I warn you that at first things can seem very confusing. Especially with so many side stories. But soon the explanations begin to appear – little by little, lol. In fact, the audience is a bit like Ladybug (Brad), not knowing what might happen in the next scene. In the end it is an ultraviolent farce, with a modern language. There are times when it looks like a Guy Ritchie movie, with animations, cameras that suddenly stop, identification of the characters in the middle of the scene. Prepare to get a little dizzy – but just relax and follow Brad Pitt with his disbelieving and amused expressions.
But the most fun ends up being the cameos. Remember that Brad made some appearances in movies like Deadpool 2 and the recent Lost City? Well, there are a lot of people returning the favor, lol. I prefer not to give most of them away, as the surprise when they appear in the film is always the subject of yet another joke. But the trailer already delivers the participation of Sandra Bullock. And Brad and Sandra’s chemistry, just like in Lost City, it’s great here. Even though they spend practically the entire movie apart. How has no one ever put these two together before???
But the cast of assassins also works very well, with the highlight being Joey King – hilarious. The film also features Brian Tyree Henry and Aaron Taylor Johnson. In fact, legend has it, that it was after seeing Aaron in this film that Sony invited him to play the lead role of Kraven – The Hunterfrom the universe of Spider man. E Trem-Bala it still has the exquisite soundtrack with the right to Staying Alive in Japanese. In other words, great fun.
