Documentary ‘Rock in Rio – A Histria’ was produced in partnership with Globoplay, Multishow and Conspirao
One of the main music festivals in the world, Rock in Rio won a documentary series with five episodes, which help to tell the 37 years of an event that, today, has become a platform coveted by both brands and artists.
Produced in partnership with Globoplay, Multishow and Conspiração, the content brings together scenes and stories, told by those who starred in some of the historic moments of Rock in Rio, such as the guitarist of Queen, Brian May, the musicians of the Black Eyed Peas, in addition to names Brazilians, such as Ney Matogrosso.
Rock in Rio – History goes beyond the festival itself and brings the political context of the time, especially in the first episode, which portrays the period of redemocratization in Brazil. The episodes not only provide a context for the music scene in the 1980s, but also show that the festival was instrumental in consolidating great national and international names, said Roberto Medina, the festival’s creator.
The second episode features the edition that took place at Maracan, in January 1991. This year’s Rock in Rio has an interview with Andreas Kisser, who recalls the beginning of a long history with the festival, Charles Gavin and Frejat, who spoke about the difficulties faced by Brazilian musicians in the midst of international attractions.
The series also shows how the Rock in Rio brand found the ideal format for major festivals and consolidated its purpose for a Better World.” The third edition, in 2001, reinforced the mix of sounds and cultures that the festival seeks to bring, under different reactions. from the public, as in the presentation by Carlinhos Brown who, despite being criticized at the time, raised a poster asking for peace and giving a statement saying that that was all the festival wanted to say.
As of 2004, Rock in Rio opens up to international editions, with the episode also featuring editions in Lisbon, Madrid and Las Vegas. Back in Brazil and renewed, in episode four All in one heart, the festival holds the 2011 edition, marked by having music combined with entertainment, with a space for cultural expression.
At Rock in Rio 2022, which starts in less than a month, there will be more than 90 brands and 200 activation spaces, 240 official products and more than 500 licensees. The expectation that the city of rock receives more than 700 thousand people.
The series is directed by Patricia Guimares and produced by Andrucha Waddington, Renata Brando and Mariana Vianna, and the screenplay by Rodrigo Pinto.
