The greatest concentration of antennas is in the region of Avenida Paulista and in Itaim Bibi; neighborhoods of Aclimao, Mooca and Brs will have lower coverage at the beginning of the process
This Thursday (4th), the 5G signal begins to be activated in the city of So Paulo, as informed by Anatel (National Telecommunications Agency) last Tuesday (2nd). The 3.5 GHz band through which the data will travel, as it can handle what they call ‘purest 5G’.
Also according to the entity, the signal should cover 25% of the urban area of the capital of São Paulo. The highest concentration of antennas is in the Historic Center, in the Avenida Paulista region and in Itaim Bibi. The neighborhoods of Aclimao, Mooca and Brs, for example, will have lower coverage at the beginning of the process.
So far, Anatel has reported that the number of station licensing requests for the activation of standalone 5G represents about 30% of the total number of stations currently active (4,592), which allowed the Monitoring Group for the Implementation of Solutions for the Interference problems in the 3625 to 3700 MHz range.
The decision to approve the early release of the use of the 3,300 MHz to 3,700 MHz radio frequency band was taken last Tuesday (2), during the Gaispi meeting.
Equipment was installed to prevent interference at 226 Fixed Satellite Service (FSS) stations and tests were carried out to confirm interference-free operation.
