Unprecedented stage, epic turns and excitement to the last map. With the presence of Gaules, Tribo and FURIA streamers, Red Bull Flick, the world’s biggest Counter Strike: Global Offensive 2×2 tournament, reached the big Brazilian decision last Saturday (6th). In São Paulo (SP), on the stage mounted inside elevators more than 10 meters high and that moved according to the performance in the game, the ‘MajorRio’ duo formed by Adriano ‘woodyadr’ Cerato and Lucas ‘Lux’ Meneghini beat ‘Made in Floripa’, by Arthur ‘peX’ Ayres and Davi ‘brockszz’ Aguiar, by 3-2 to take the national title of the competition and stamp the passport for the international stage, in November, in Denmark.
Lux, named the best player of the event and owner of 160 kills and 18 assists, commented:
“I was afraid of the semifinals, because you arrive cold at the game. Then we had a confidence boost to win. We prepared a lot, we respect everyone who came forward. We knew that if I didn’t have a lot of study and training, I wouldn’t be able to win.”
The gaucho Cerato says:
“This event was fantastic. And this moment of my career is being very good. Things are coming together, I played a championship in São Paulo, I was able to win it, I met new people… it’s been good to rediscover myself in my career and keep growing. Now, the issue of the Worlds has a great appeal to Brazilians and it is up to Lux and me to try for this title.”
Biggest Brazilian streamer and one of the main ones in the world, Gaules, Red Bull player, commanded the broadcast of the Brazilian decision of Red Bull Flick in the month in which CS:GO celebrates 10 years of its launch. He says:
“This type of experience adds something more to the game and takes the player out of the comfort zone, as there are people who perform well in the bedroom, but it is not the same on stage, with the public.”
Gauls also adds:
In addition, if you dedicate yourself and train, you can compete in a tryouts and be in the spotlight, showing your competitive level and being an option for the teams. It is the realization of a dream, of being in the community for decades and, today, seeing that it is a reality for brands to look with respect to what you believed in back then. Confirmation of what you believed and dreamed of working out.”
The semifinals and the big decision
With exclusive maps, Red Bull Flick has also innovated on stage. In elevators erected more than 10 meters high, at Fabriketa, in São Paulo, participants had to face the physical challenge that accompanied their performance in the game. Since the objective is to track capture points over a certain period of time, with the capture point changing every 30 seconds, there is a ticket countdown system to track the score. When a team’s tickets run out, the duo loses the game. And as they were losing tickets in the score, these elevators went down.
The duos ‘Made in Floripa’, by Arthur ‘peX’ Ayres and Davi ‘brockszz’ Aguiar, and ‘Chosa Heidan’, by Patrick ‘detr0ittJ’ Carvalho and Leonardo ‘fREQ’ Kurussu, were the first to enter the semifinals, whose dispute was MD3, with three rounds on each map. Even under the tutelage of reigning champion Patrick, Chosa Heidan saw the Santa Catarina amateurs win 2-0 on the Control Room and Sky Platform maps. In the latter, by the way, they achieved an epic comeback after being around 30 points behind.
In the other semifinal, ‘MajorRio’ (Adriano ‘woodyadr’ Cerato and Lucas ‘Lux’ Meneghini) faced ‘Maetonalan’ (Lucas ‘LUCKING’ Olivato and Ênio ‘Thuister’ Souza). Even losing the first two rounds on each map, Adriano and Lucas’ team won 2-0 to MD3 in Digital Archives and Control Room.
Already in the big decision, a dispute of pro-players against amateurs. ‘MajorRio’ changed its strategy, betting more on staying at the control points and, overwhelmingly, opened 2-0 in the final, whose format was MD5, with victories in the Digital Archives and Control Room. On the third map, City Palace, the duo won the first round and seemed to be heading towards victory, as they led the next round by 16 to 27. Then, the ‘Made in Floripa’ from Santa Catarina reacted. They won, took the map and then tied the battle by triumphing on the Sky Platform. Finally, in the final round of Wi-nG: 5 Lobby, experience made the difference for Woodyadr and Lux.
It’s Brazil in Denmark
With the result, ‘MajorRio’ guarantees a place in the playoffs of the world stage, in November, in Denmark, and, if they advance, they will have the opportunity to meet, socialize and face the best CS:GO pro-players in the world, such as KScerato and Drop, already confirmed as a duo. In addition, pcs gamers earned. The public can still follow the replay with all the moments of the Brazilian decision of Red Bull Flick through the transmission on Canal de Gaules, on Twitch, and on Youtube of Ei Games.
