Outlander It’s one of those series that has a fanatical following. There are nine books in the saga available (I’ve read six of them). And the series has already been approved for a seventh season. Six of them are available in Star Plus. However, despite the success, many people already consider that this next season could be the last. There is really a certain tiredness in the stories. And now, this week, we learned something new. Starz, which produces the series, has given the green light for a prequel series, which will be called Outlander: Blood of My Blood.
Matthew B. Roberts, the showrunner of the parent series, will write and oversee the spinoff. She will tell the love story of Jamie’s parents, Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser. According to Kathryn Busby, president of original programming at Starz, “We are excited to show new layers of this vibrant world, and bring our audience back to the origin, where it all began.” There is no official release date yet.
The seventh season of Outlander
Among the news that we already know about the seventh season of Outlander are the entry of new characters. Remember Jamie’s secret son William? He already appeared as a boy in season four when Lord John brought him to Jamie to meet. But now, in season seven, he will be an adult. And it will be done by Charles Vandervaart, Liam from Lost in Space. Now he will be an English soldier, who will do anything to undermine the idea of a revolution. That is, he will have problems with Jamie, without having the slightest idea that he is his biological father. Others who will enter the story will be the brothers Rachel and Dr. Denzel Hunter. These will be played by Izzy Meikle-Small (who was young Ravenna in Snow White and the hunter) e Joey Phillips (The Royals).
The seventh season will have 16 episodes. And despite rumors that it would be the last, author Diana Gabaldon said no one knows yet what will happen. According to Deadline, the season is expected to premiere in “late 2022/early 2023”. It will be based on book 7 of the saga, Echoes of the Future.
