YouTube today announced the “YouTube: Game On”, a two-hour, live-streaming interactive event celebrating a variety of gaming-related initiatives. The premiere will take place globally on Saturday, August 27 at 5pm.
As one of the biggest destinations for gaming content, YouTube will host its biggest special in this segment. The interactive experience will bring together more than 60 creators, representing more than 400 million subscribers and more than 150 billion combined lifetime views on the platform. Fans will be able to view “YouTube: Game On”, play the game by voting in real-time on unique challenges and influence how the broadcast takes place.
“YouTube: Game On” features fan-favorite creators including Brazilian Felipe Neto and other names like Ali A, AyChristine, Bazerk, Caylus, Chica, CouRage, Dream, EddieVR, EyStream, GeorgeNotFound, Jake Fellman, Lachlan, Larray, LaurenzSide, LDShadowLady, Markiplier, MatPat, Muselk, Myth, Preston & Brianna, Sapnap, Sidemen, Slogo, SunlessKhan, Sykkuno, The Grumps, TommyInnit, Typical Gamer, Wirtual, etc; and even the most popular games like Among Us, Fall Guys, Fortnite, Free Fire, Friday Night Funkin’, Grand Theft Auto V, Minecraft, Mortal Kombat 11, Poppy Playtime, Rocket League, Street Fighter 6 and Trackmania.

The broadcast celebrates the diversity of content that makes up YouTube Gaming – from fun challenges and surprise moments to celebrating the anniversaries of classic games – all inspired by the platform’s most popular trends. Viewers can look forward to: a terrifying combo of analogue horror challenges that are sure to give a good scare; O Hot Ones Challenge: Video Gamer Faceoff hosted by Sean Evans, in which spectator-selected players will play an early demo of Street Fighter 6; Grandma & Gran-Poppy Playtime in which unsuspecting seniors will try to be the last person standing in the survival horror game Poppy Playtimeand more fun and creative challenges with leading creators.
“YouTube: Game On” will be broadcast live, simultaneously around the world with local creators speaking in five different languages, including Portuguese, English, French, German and Spanish.
As the top destination for gaming content, YouTube had over 800 billion gaming-related views, over 90 million hours streamed live, and over 250 million uploads in the first half of 2021. In addition, it is home to trends and most relevant gaming content in live streams, on-demand videos and shorts content.
