A live-action Pac-Man movie is in development, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Bandai Namco, the video game developer that owns the game series, is working on the film with production company Wayfarer.
Live-action Sonic movie producer Chuck Williams had an original idea for the Pac-Man movie, the report said, though he did not mention any plot details.
It’s apparently too early for the movie, as there’s also no information on the cast, director, release date, or anything else. Wayfarer is best known for the Disney+ film Clouds, a moving drama that tells the real-life story of Zach Sobiech, a teenage musician who died of cancer at age 18.
It’s also worth noting that just because a movie is in production doesn’t mean it will actually be made. For example, the movie Tetris was announced years ago and still hasn’t been released until today, probably due to problems during production.
Before that, there have been several Pac-Man TV shows before, including an ABC series in the 1980s and a more recent one that aired on Disney XD.
