Eva Longoria became known to the public as Gabrielle de Desperate Housewives. The series ran from 2004 to 2012, and today all seasons are on Star Plus. IT IS Land of Women, a dramatic comedy based on the book of the same name by Sandra Barneda. In the series, Eva is Gala. When her husband involves the family in financial fraud, her life takes an unexpected turn. Gala has to leave New York City with her elderly mother and her daughter, who has recently left home. To escape the criminals to whom the husband has become indebted, the three women flee.
They will hide out in a charming wine town in northern Spain, which Gala’s mother left 50 years ago. The problem is that at the time she swore never to return. The three seek to start a new life, in the hope that their real identities will never be discovered. But in a small town, gossip reveals the deepest secrets and truths.
The series is from Apple TV Plus, but does not yet have a premiere date. Pre-production has already started in Spain. And the most interesting of all is that Gala’s mother will have a big star as the protagonist. Carmen Maura, from several films by Almodóvar, such as Return e Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, will be Julia. I was curious!
