By using moderation with awareness messages to counter possible insults and toxic comments in the streamer’s lives
The partnership between Sal de Fruta ENO and streamer Gaules launched another initiative to combat social heartburn in e-sports: the Chatbot Against Heartburn.
Created by the marketing agency Owly, the action is part of the campaign Não Azia Vai Parar a Tribo, launched in April and which aims to promote health care in the gamer community and counteract social heartburn caused by prejudice and discrimination.
The action in chats seeks to counter possible insults and discriminatory comments made by the audience during Gaules’ lives, preventing the chat from becoming a toxic environment for thousands of fans and followers.
The initiative, launched in July, reduced the number of messages from users blocked for inappropriate content during the streamer’s transmissions by a fifth. From an average of 15 blocks daily, the volume dropped to three a few weeks after the moderation created for the campaign started.
Toxic comments are all over the internet and, unfortunately, there are occasions when they happen even within one of the main communities dedicated to e-sports on the Brazilian internet. to strengthen the fight against social heartburn in the gamer community, which has grown a lot in Brazil and in the world, that the Sal de Fruta ENO brand once again puts into practice yet another innovative action for the benefit of all who love games and e-sports, says Dbora Kawa, Wellness Category Lead at Haleon Brasil.
The purpose of the tool is to promote an awareness movement that, when identifying an aggressive message, publishes an alert against toxicity within the streamer’s chat during their live broadcasts on the social network Twitch. For this purpose, personalized messages were created for different situations and started to be published whenever the moderator identifies toxic comments in the community.
By dialoguing directly with those who are part of the Tribe and with anyone who wants to join our community, we will reinforce the importance that opinions are expressed with respect, free from prejudice and aggression, stated Gaules.
The streamer makes a point of taking advantage of its popularity, which today reaches around 19.5 million unique viewers on all its channels, to encourage the Tribe to unite against prejudice, discrimination, racism and homophobia deplorable attitudes that can contaminate a environment that should just be joyful and diverse for everyone.
