The institution Niz Projeto Social, from Cidade de Deus, was selected to receive the funds raised in the auction
The shirts used by Vasco’s players in the victory against Tombense, held last Saturday (13), in So Janurio, will be auctioned from Monday (22/08) on the Play For a Cause platform.
The items used in the game that preceded Father’s Day Sunday and were marked by the action promoted between the Club de Regatas Vasco da Gama and the Public Defender’s Office of Rio de Janeiro (DPRJ), to encourage the recognition of paternity in the birth certificate. When entering the field, the players wore shirts with XXXXX in place of the names.
This action has a double social impact and we are very happy to promote the auction of these items. First, the super important campaign about paternity recognition. Second, that the net proceeds from the auction will go to a social institution in Rio de Janeiro, located in Cidade de Deus, commented Andre Georges, founder and CEO of Play For a Cause.
In total, the auction will consist of 11 autographed shirts, with initial bids starting at R$800.00 and the institution Niz Projeto Social, from Cidade de Deus, was selected to receive the funds raised.
“Niz uses education as the main tool in the fight against inequality, offering courses and training for children, youth and adults, and it is very important for Play For a Cause to support this type of project,” added Georges.
