The company estimates that around 70% of the packages placed on the market already contain a percentage of recycled resin at the end of the year
Sprite has a new look and now has a transparent packaging that aims to facilitate recycling. According to The Coca-Cola Company, the change is part of its commitment to a World Without Waste and to the United Nations (UN) Global Compact for a circular economy.
The launch of the new bottle will be accompanied by a comprehensive campaign that includes various actions at points of sale and communication on social networks.
“The change in Sprite begins in 2022 and brings us forward on this path of respect and care for the environment. We want these bottles to generate even more value in the recycling chain, expanding their circularity and positively impacting all links in the chain that work daily in favor of recycling in our country, said Ted Ketterer, Marketing Director of Coca-Cola Brazil.
In Brazil, the change of the bottle started in August for all markets and in all its presentations (200ml, 250ml, 500ml, 600ml, 2L and 2.25L). By the end of 2022, it is estimated that around 70% of packaging placed on the market already contains a percentage of recycled resin.
As a Company, we have clear objectives to increase the circularity and responsible and sustainable growth of our brands. By choosing to increase recycled content and replacing green packaging with transparent bottles, we demonstrate and understand how the company has advanced and acted in a committed way towards sustainability goals and with regard to expanding the recyclability and circularity of all our packaging”, added Rodrigo Brito, Head of Sustainability for Brazil and South Cone at Coca-Cola America Latina.
