Twitter is making the Live Shopping feature available in Brazil, which allows those who are watching a live broadcast on the platform to buy what is being offered by the brand.
Samsung Brasil was the first brand to test the platform format in the country, live with Anitta, Maisa and Júnior Nannetti, who presented the launch of smartphones, smartwatches and headsets.
The new feature adds a shopping tab to live streams and includes banners that overlay the video, allowing people to interact with each other and make purchases during the event.
According to a press release released by the two brands, Samsung’s live on Twitter had more than 2.48 million views, with a peak of 16,000 people watching at the same time – the largest audience compared to other platforms that broadcast the action.
The products that are advertised may be available on event page even after transmission.
“The launch of Twitter Live Shopping takes place at a strategic time of increased demand for live commerce formats, a worldwide trend, in addition to preceding Black Friday, one of the biggest shopping dates in Brazil”, explains Ellen Biagio, sales executive on Twitter Brazil.
Live Shopping is available to global Twitter customers, in a trial phase.
