Twitter is testing an editing feature that allows users to change tweets within 30 minutes of posting. According to information revealed by the social media company, tweets can be edited “sometimes” up to half an hour after they go live.
To make it clear that the version of the publication seen by users was not the first to be published by the author, a notice of the edit made will be placed next to the content. Also according to the social network, previous versions can be viewed.

The application of a button to edit posts on the social network has been discussed by the community for years. However, many are against the possibility of editing, arguing that the addition could leave room for tweets to be changed lightly, to the detriment of those who republish their content before the edit is made.
It is also worth mentioning that the process is in the testing stage. So far, a very select number of users are allowed to edit their tweets with the feature. Twitter has not yet given an exact date for releasing the feature to all network participants, but new updates should be revealed soon.
