Leila Oliveira acted as the record company’s general manager and took over the position held by Srgio Affonso from October 28
Warner Music Brasil introduced its new president: Leila Oliveira. The executive will become effective on October 28th and will assume the position of Srgio Affonso, president of the label for over 15 years.
It is an incredible honor to be invited to succeed Srgio as president of Warner Music Brasil. I worked for him for nearly a decade and learned a lot about supporting artists and staying agile in our ever-changing industry. I have great ambitions to further expand our company and make Brazil a source of global talent for Warner Music,” said Leila Oliveira.
Leila, who previously served as the label’s general manager, will continue to work at Warner Music Brasil’s headquarters in Rio de Janeiro and report to Alejandro Duque, president of Warner Music Latin America.
I know you are all in good hands with Leila, whom I have worked closely with for nearly a decade and proudly appointed as my successor. I’m sure she will continue this work to make Warner Music Brasil even bigger and better”, said Srgio Affonso, who is launching his own music label that will be distributed by Warner Music.
Leila started in the entertainment industry in 2007, working as a production manager at Bandit Films & Digital, a company specialized in creating advertisements and branded content online and for TV. He later worked for Telefnica, overseeing video-on-demand content, working in partnership with major studios, local programmers and producers, and moved to Terra Networks, leading the content acquisition strategy for the news and music areas, before join Warner Music.
