Space of 20 thousand square meters will be called WPP Campus So Paulo and will be located in Vila Leopoldina, in So Paulo
WPP started the construction of a space in Brazil that will bring together the 26 agencies and companies of the group, which employ around 7 thousand employees in the country. The group’s idea is to leverage the market through collaboration and synergy between agencies, customers, partners and the community.
Named WPP Campus So Paulo, the space was designed to offer an integrated living environment that meets the group’s needs in terms of work spaces, also proposing a new relationship between these spaces and the city.
WPP’s So Paulo Campus will provide innovative spaces for greater collaboration and act as a catalyst for world-class work in Brazil. With people and nature at the heart of its design, we aim to make the space the creative destination within the city for our clients and the country’s most talented people, said Mark Read, CEO of WPP.
With a sustainable architectural proposal, designed by architect Gustavo Utrabo, the campus will occupy a plot of approximately 20,000 square meters in Vila Leopoldina, a neighborhood of So Paulo and construction should be completed by early 2025.
The project was started in 2019, from a competition opened by WPP for companies in the real estate market to present ideas different from those traditionally practiced in corporate buildings.
With 11,000m slabs, the five floors will be connected by walkways and staircases that will lead to large living spaces and walkable galleries in their external areas, full of work areas with balconies and terraces. In addition to an auditorium, the ground floor, open to the public, will feature shops, cafes, restaurants and a large green area.
“The space was conceived to promote more synergy and collaboration between companies, professionals and the community, stimulating creativity and the development of innovative solutions for customers and the market. The architectural project encourages sustainability, well-being and a better balance of life, thus meeting the new perspectives of work and favoring diversity and inclusion”, added Stefano Zunino, country manager of WPP in Brazil.
The campus also has several other services designed to make life easier for WPP professionals, such as day care and a gym.
The So Paulo space will form part of WPP’s global campus strategy, which will have more than 65 campuses around the world open by 2025. The company’s first campus in Brazil will join newly opened campuses in Toronto, Prague, Milan, Detroit and London.
