Francine Li, global head of marketing at Riot Games, has been chosen to be the category’s inaugural jury president
Cannes Lions announced this Thursday (10) its new category, the Entertainment Lions for Gaming from next year’s edition. The organization also named Francine Li, global head of marketing at Riot Games, to be president of the inaugural jury for the category.
According to a statement from Cannes Lions, Entertainment for Gaming will stand out for the creative work that connects people and brands through the game. It will be necessary for brands and agencies to demonstrate the result actually achieved, among others, he informed.
The jury, which will be announced early next year, will be multidisciplinary and made up of creatives, brands, game experts, publishers, platforms and producers.
Cannes Lions CEO Simon Cook stated that the increase in festival winners who used games in communication was notable. Nor can we ignore that the game is bigger than Hollywood and the music industry together. We believe this award will offer a new benchmark and highlight the creative work that stands at the intersection of brands, creativity, games and the customer experience,” he said.
