The Map of Creativity survey, developed by Faber-Castell Brasil’s Consumer Marketing Insights (CMI) department, found that three out of four people consider themselves creative.
According to the survey, 96% of respondents agree that creativity can help transform the world not only as an artistic ability, but also as a form of innovation and problem solving.
When the subject is skills for the future, the study pointed out that creativity appears as one of the three most important, along with the ability to learn and resilience. Another data shown by the survey is that 85% of the population agrees that creativity is a trainable skill.

For those who do not consider themselves creative, the main barriers to creativity presented by the study are the fear of: making mistakes, failing, rejection, disapproval, or even change (62%), lack of stimuli/incentives (43%) and lack of resources, such as money, materials, etc. (30%).
When looking for inspiration, social networks proved to be the first option for respondents. According to the survey, Instagram, Pinterest, Youtube and Facebook are the most searched networks (45%), followed by movies, series and plays (34%) and music (32%). Still according to the study, the night is the period when people feel more creative (28%) and the family is the greatest source of inspiration for most respondents (34%), followed by artists (28%).
According to 87% of respondents, creative people suddenly have ideas and there are also those who still believe that creativity is a gift (63%) or for few people (45%).
With regard to the most creative phase of life, the majority (51%) believe that childhood, compared to 27% who bet on adolescence, 20% who chose adulthood and 2% on old age.
The survey also pointed out that, among people who have children, 82% consider themselves more creative compared to 68% of those without children.
