Deh Bastos was immortalized by the creator of Turma da Mnica in the Donas da Rua project
In order to encourage debates on the importance of racial equality, Mauricio de Sousa Produes honored Publicis’ creative director. Deh Bastos was immortalized by the Donas da Rua project, which has as one of its objectives to bring visibility to remarkable women to inspire girls and other women to seek their space in areas such as arts, sciences, sports and literature.
Deh Bastos, creator of the Creating Black Children project, which aims to transform the world into a more inclusive and aware place so that little ones can grow up with a positive reference. The initiative is formed by a network of families interested in a conscious education, and has the proposal to create dialogues so that anti-racism becomes part of the life of all families.
A holiday in more than a thousand Brazilian cities, the date in question refers to the death of Zumbi dos Palmares, a black Pernambuco leader at the head of the Quilombo dos Palmares who was murdered on November 20, 1695. The main objective is to bring new debates about racial inequality that still exists in the country, in which pardos and blacks represent 56% of the population, according to the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (2019).
In addition to Deh Bastos, other great women, writers, athletes and scientists are part of the hall of the Donas of Rua da Histria.
