Streamer Casimiro broke the record for the biggest live in YouTube history by bringing together 3.48 million people in a single live video. The transmission in question was the debut of Brazil in the World Cup in Qatar, which took place yesterday, against Serbia.
Until then, the record was also Brazilian, by singer Marília Mendonça. It is worth remembering that Brazil dominates the list, with 4 Brazilians among the five most viewed lives on YouTube worldwide to date. Check out the list of live attendance records:
- CazéTV (Brazil): 3.48 million
- Marília Mendonça (Brazil): 3.31 million
- Jorge & Mateus (Brazil): 3.24 million
- Andrea Bocelli (Italy): 2.86 million
- Gusttavo Lima (Brazil): 2.77 million
Casimiro got the broadcasting rights for the World Cup, and has been making the competition games available for free. In addition to the comments that made him the biggest content producer in Brazil today, the transmissions also have narration and even a direct correspondent from the host country, such as the comedian Diogo Defante.
Although the number produced by Casimiro yesterday was surprising, this should not be the only good result of the streamer during the World Cup, taking into account that Brazil still has at least two more games to play, and six more if it reaches the big end of the tournament.
The success is even more surprising as the games are not broadcast exclusively by “Cazé”, but are also broadcast free of charge on free-to-air television channels, such as Globo, and some paid cable television channels.
