The presenter, actor, writer, activist, Marcos Mion, becomes part of the General Motors team as the new ambassador of the Chevrolet brand in Brazil. This is the first time that the communicator works with the automotive segment. The partnership, which promises great news, was born out of a desire to add even more plurality and dynamism to the brand’s communication.
Presenter of Caldeirão com Mion, on Globo, the communicator represents a plural, creative, innovative personality, in constant evolution and movement, which connects with different audiences. This is an opportunity for Chevrolet to talk to Brazilians who recognize and identify with the artist’s multifaceted profile.
“What year! Closing 2022 with my debut in the automotive sector as an ambassador for Chevrolet! A recognized and highly admired brand worldwide. A huge honor. This partnership promises and, from the first minute, it has inspired me a lot!”, celebrates Mion. In a teaser moment, the brand changed the name of the cars on social media such as cruzetóla, trailblazera, and on its page, Mion made the official announcement playing with the word CMO, Chief Mionzera Officer. Chris Rego, executive director of GM in South America, also celebrates the partnership. “Having Mion as a partner is having one of the most authentic, original and fun communicators in the Brazilian media. We want to develop a solid and plural partnership, counting on him in different campaigns, platforms and events, reinforcing Chevrolet as a brand that seeks to maintain real and plural connections with consumers”, he says.
The partnership will take place through creative ideas and content strategy signed by Commonwealth//WMcCann, WMcCann’s division for exclusive service to Chevrolet, aligned with the operation of Mynd, influencer marketing and entertainment agency.
The novelty comes at an important moment for the brand. In the pickup segment alone, the launch of the Nova Montana, a future medium-compact pickup truck produced by GM in Brazil, is scheduled for 2023, in addition to a new version of the renowned Chevrolet S10 and the arrival of the robust Silverado.
GM should also expand its electric car portfolio in the region with the arrival of 100% electric models, such as the Blazer EV and the Equinox EV. The company is committed to leading the electrification of mobility and is investing USD 35 billion globally in the development of 30 electric and autonomous vehicles by 2025.
