With an eye on one of the most emblematic stages of Brazilian football, future doctors, neuroscientists, lawyers and engineers enter the ‘virtual field’ to compete in the Brazilian final of the world’s largest VALORANT tournament for university students, the Red Bull Campus Clutch.
This Sunday, December 4th, the teams ‘Scroll Lock’ and ‘Tanto Faz’, made up of fans of mwzera and mains Jett and Chamber, log into the national server for the big decision, which will guarantee the winner a place in the international phase , which will take place in Pacaembu and will have more than 40 countries on lan. The Brazilian public will be able to follow all the emotions live, starting at 1 pm (Brasília time), through the broadcast on Twitch (by Tixinha and Babi.
With VALORANT players since Beta, the Scroll Lock team won the first qualifier of the competition losing just one map and eliminated ‘Odin and Friends’, Latin American champions of the first edition, in the big decision. The team is composed of UrangO (Administration – Mackenzie), Nandinho (System Analysis and Development – CEUNSP), Lula Molusco (Law – Univr), Fluyr (Electrical Engineering – USP) and Gbzjn (TI – Uniasselvi).
Nandinho, who dreams of becoming a pro-player, says:
“I played CS:GO and Point Blank before I went to VALORANT. The qualys, in my view, were quiet. We played well every game. Only the last one, against Odin and Friends, was more difficult. They were very good, we had slips, but we came out with the victory. Now, in the final, I believe it’s going to be really cool. I know the opposing team a lot, so we are prepared to win the championship.”
The ‘Tanto Faz’ team has experienced Fortnite and Overwatch players, but who migrated to Riot Games’ fps at the game’s launch. Fans of mwzera, FURIA, and LOUD pro-players, players reach the decision without losing any map in the event, also passing through ‘Odin and Friends’ and showing great dexterity in Ascent and Icebox. Gon states:
“Because the first stages of the qualifiers are MD1, we had a little more difficulty in the beginning. And the Brazilian final will be a big game, because Brazil has a lot of aim to show. Everyone has so much potential.”
The Brazilian final of the second edition of the Red Bull Campus Clutch will take place in MD5 (Best of 5 games), starting at 1 pm (Brasília time), this Sunday (4). Tixinha and Babi run the broadcasts through their Twitch channels, as well as the official Red Bull Twitch channel (
The big Brazilian winner joins the USA, Switzerland, Spain, Argentina, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Portugal, Holland, Norway and Great Britain and dozens of countries guaranteed in the world stage, which will take place in Pacaembu (SP), in December 11th to 16th. On the 15th and 16th, VALORANT fans will be able to follow the games in loco, in the stadium’s stands, through free and limited tickets that will be made available soon.
The world champion team will win €20,000 and a VIP experience on the VALORANT Champions Tour 2023. In 2022, the Red Bull Campus Clutch will also have global partnerships with Intel NUC, SteelSeries, AGON by AOC and Backforce.
