The Game Awards, considered by many as “The Oscar of video games”, took place last night, December 9th. The awards are made up of several categories and celebrate the best games and developers of the year.
The main prize of the night at The Game Awards is Best Game of the Year, which this time, went to Elder Ring, by FromSoftware. With this award, the developer becomes the first to win two main prizes in different editions of the ceremony. Previously, they had already won the trophy with Axe: Shadows Die Twice.
However, The Game Awards weren’t all about celebrating the past year. The event features several announcements and trailers for future releases. Diablo 4 was finally announced, in addition to confirming the sequel to games like Death Stranding and Hades.
The event also featured a more than unusual situation: a stage invasion. During the announcement of the game of the year, a boy entered the spotlight without authorization and dedicated the award that the developers were receiving to the former President of the United States, Bill Clinton.
