National cinema is best recognized for comedies and crime films. But, from time to time, some very nice novels appear. It is the case of Love Turns, with Cleo, Juliana Didone and Igor Angelkorte . It premieres in theaters this Thursday (22).Love Turns tells the story of André (Igor Algelkorte). He is a doctor who travels to Africa to work for Doctors Without Borders. From there, he maintains his long-distance relationship with Beta, (Juliana Didone). Their communication takes place through love letters exchanged regularly. The problem is that when André returns to Brazil, Beta treats him coldly. She is already in another relationship. That’s when he discovers that these letters were actually written by his girlfriend’s sister (Cleo Pires). And that – obviously – she was always in love with him. The film is actually not just a novel. It also has a bit of comedy, drama, road movie. ‘It has its truisms, of course. And like every love triangle, you’ve seen similar situations. There’s always the guy dizzy enough not to see what’s right in front of his nose, lol. But I liked the story of the cards. I thought it was romantic, and crazy. Exactly as it happens in passionate situations, lol. The cast is fine. And the photography is beautiful, especially the part that takes place in the beach house.Of course, Beta’s character changes her mind a little too quickly. But in difficult times we can’t always understand people’s reactions. In the end, Love Gives Back is a nice movie to watch. I interviewed director and screenwriter Marcos Bernstein. And also the main cast: Cleo, Juliana Didone and Igor Angelkorte. Watch our conversation here:Eliane MunhozTo learn more about movies and series, visit blogdehollywood.com.br
