Natura was a brand that took a stand against democracy attacks in the federal capital
Owner of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, Meta will remove and block any and all content in defense of the anti-democratic acts that took place this Sunday (8) in Brasilia, when people invaded the headquarters of the Executive, Legislative and Judiciary.
According to a spokesman for Meta, in an interview with the BBC, the company said it would immediately delete posts that encouraged the invasion of the federal capital. “We are actively monitoring the situation and will continue to delete content that violates our policies.”
In Brazil, entities demonstrated against yesterday’s coup acts. The ANJ (National Association of Newspapers) condemned ‘in the most vehement way the crimes against democracy that take place in Brasilia’.
The association also said that freedom of the press is inherent to the democratic State of law, ‘which cannot tolerate or coexist with turmoil and vandalism’.
“The ANJ also condemns the attacks on journalists who cover the invasions in Brasilia and demands a firm position from the security forces against these attacks and attacks on freedom of the press and democracy”, concluded the text.
Fenaj (National Federation of Journalists) also repudiated the attacks on democracy. In a statement, Fenaj “firmly denounced this group that insists on defying the Constitution, maintaining camps in front of Army barracks, promoting terrorist actions in Brasilia and asking for military intervention”.
Abracom (Brazilian Association of Communication Agencies) condemned the attacks against democracy. “Respect for the polls and institutions is fundamental for Brazilian society to have the peace of mind needed to move forward in solving the country’s main social and economic issues.”
In the universe of brands, Natura manifested itself saying, in a note, that it repudiates the acts of this Sunday in Brasilia. “These criminal acts represent an affront to Brazilian democracy, in an attempt to silence established institutions and silence public spaces for dialogue.
“The scenes we watched this Sunday are opposed to our beliefs and reason for being. We are a collective construction of a huge network of consumers, consultants and collaborators, with plural political and ideological positions, which values the diversity of ideas and the democratic debate as instruments for the progress of civilization, said the brand.
