Marketplace will debut on Big Brother after the retailer gave up participating in Globo’s reality show
Shortly after Americanas announced that it had given up sponsoring the BBB 23, Mercado Livre took over. The contract, according to the brand, includes participation in tests and routine activities of the program, such as parties and specific actions.
Americanas, which had renewed its partnership with the broadcaster, was in the Big quota, whose list value is BRL 105 million. Around 4 pm this Friday (13), the retailer published a note confirming the information.
Last Wednesday (11), Americanas communicated an ‘accounting inconsistency’ worth BRL 20 billion, in addition to the resignations of the company’s CEO, Sergio Rial, and CFO, André Covre, both executives had been sworn in on 2 January and had been performing their duties for less than ten days.
Also this Friday, earlier, Procon-SP notified Americanas and gave the company a period of four days to respond about the impacts of the financial gap on consumers.
Marketing Director at Mercado Livre, Cesar Hiraoka says he is excited about the ‘possibility of entering the most guarded house in Brazil’, as he said. “We identified in this project a great potential to amplify our purpose of democratizing commerce, bringing an experience of excellence in e-commerce to all of Brazil,” he said.
