New to be led by female directors We are Magnolias and executive producers Marcella Feo and Maira Massullo
A producer whose purpose is to connect talents and brands, Mercuria is the new home of Magnolias, formed by directors Barbara Sassen and Nate Rabelo. On the executive side, Marcella Feo and Maira Massullo make up the creative production duo.
Marcella Fo has experience in production, having worked for major production companies such as Stink Films, O2 films and Boiler. She has award-winning projects in her portfolio, including the short film Bluesman, a clip by artist Baco Exu do Blues, which won the Grand Prix of Entertainment for Music at Cannes Lions in 2019.
Already Maira Massullo, founding partner of Glue, a representation and mentoring company for new talents, has also consolidated her career in the market with passages in large companies in the sector such as Red Bull, F/Nazca S&S, YourMama, Sentimental, Landia and VICE.
In the team of directors, Mercuria is born with the award-winning Squarehead as associate director and presents the new talents Mlk Brutal and Sthefany, who join in this new journey through convergent looks, which communicate in a visual link to give the face and brand language.
Having worked at F/Nazca and Stink Films, director Squarehead is known for his versatility in dialoguing with different platforms, bringing visually impactful and dynamic results to his projects. He won 5 Lions in Cannes with his Endless Stories project in 2018, Grand Prix at the Wave Festival, in addition to outstanding awards at many other international festivals such as D&AD, Clio, LIA, OneShow and El Ojo. The project also won the International Excellence category at the AICP and is now a permanent collection at MOMA NYC.
Making room for new talents, Mlk Brutal started his career editing remixes of his favorite movies and songs. With a young and fresh language, he has directed campaigns for brands such as Facebook, Youtube, Colorado, as well as music videos for new artists on the Brazilian music scene such as Carol Biazin and BK.
Sthefany started by directing clips for independent artists and fashion films. Together with Sony Music and AUR, he developed and directed the short film Protect Your Dreams, an audiovisual project that brought together black professionals and artists to tell their story. In his portfolio are clips for names like Preta Gil, Ruxell, Sain and BK.
