Operation that will remain in Mexico City will be led by Jessica Apellaniz and Pablo de Arteaga
W+K announced business expansion in Latin America and opened an office in Mexico City. The operation, called Wieden+Kennedy Mexico, will be led by Mexican Jessica Apellaniz and Brazilian Pablo de Arteaga.
Among the unit’s customers is the Ford Motor Company. With the new operation, the chain opens its tenth global branch and the first in which the native language is Spanish.
According to the agency, the change is part of the growing presence of W+K in Latin America soon, W+K said it will open a base in Argentina. Andr Gustavo and Felipe Ribeiro, president and chief creative officer of W+K So Paulo respectively, lead expansion efforts across Latin America.
Jessica Apellaniz joins W+K Mexico after working at Ogilvy as executive creative director for Latin America. During her time there, she created campaigns for Coca-Cola, BP, Mazda, Aeromexico, Nestl, AB InBev and American Express, among others.
The Brazilian-Uruguayan Pablo de Arteaga arrives at W+K Mexico after holding senior executive positions at Leo Burnett Worldwide, BBH London, BBH So Paulo and Africa in Brazil.
