PUMA Brasil and Palmeiras have just launched the new HOME and AWAY uniforms for the 2023 season. With the marketing campaign “Welcome to the Third Academy”, the launch celebrates the First and Second Academy, teams that made their mark in the 1960s and 1970s, and exalts the Third Academy, referring to the current moment experienced by the club, which collects several important titles in recent years. The campaign, created in partnership with the BETC HAVAS agency, draws a parallel between the two historic teams and the squad commanded by coach Abel Ferreira, the current coach of Palmeiras who continues to write a story full of achievements. The denomination of this victorious period as Terceira Academia bears the seal of the idol Ademir da Guia, one of the most important players of the first two Academies. The star further states:
“In the 60s and 70s, Palmeiras had a team with an engaging game and we won cups and cups. I see in the current team the art of the First Academy with the solidity of the Second. I feel honored, at the age of 80, to witness the emergence of yet another historic team that I claim to be the Terceira Academia da Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras.”
Derived from PUMA’s new FOREVER FASTER concept, which establishes a relationship between history and the future, the launch film features memorable scenes of Ademir da Guia and Dudu, superimposed by images of the current team, showing how these different generations of players built the history of PUMA. Palmeiras Sports Society.
The First Academy was responsible for winning four Brazilian Championships, three Paulista Championships and one Rio-São Paulo Championship. The Second Academy, in turn, won two Brazilian Championships and three Paulistas. The Third Academy of Palmeiras has so far won two Libertadores, two Brazilian Championships, one Copa do Brasil, two Paulistas and one Recopa Sul-Americana.
The debut of the new PUMA HOME shirt took place last Saturday, January 28th, in a match valid for the Brazilian Super Cup against Flamengo, in which Palmeiras won by 4×3.
