Initiative wants to present more opportunities for groups with less representation in the history of the festival
Cannes Lions announced the launch of the Lions Scholarship, designed to support the next generation of talent and provide a group of young people from around the world with a fully funded place at the Cannes Lions Brand Marketers and Creative Academies, which runs during the festival in June.
The initiative follows a series of talent programs that form part of the festival’s effort to present more opportunities to historically underrepresented groups through Cannes Lions funded talent programs.
This initiative is designed to increase the accessibility of the Cannes Lions bespoke academies, which offer a curated education program at the heart of the Festival, said Simon Cook, CEO of the Cannes Lions Festival.
The talent program includes a series of early career initiatives with Young Lions Academies and Competitions designed to ‘catapult’ young talent into their careers.
Additionally, the festival’s current talent acceleration programs continue into 2023, including See It Be It, which aims to help achieve equal gender representation of directors and creative leaders.
Those interested can register for the program on the Festival website, which takes place between June 19th and 23rd, in Cannes, France.
