Givanildo Menezes returns to the station, where he served as director of strategy
CNN Brasil presented this Wednesday (8) the station’s new director of journalism: Givanildo Menezes, who takes over from Fabiano Falsi. With more than two decades of experience in the market, he will face the challenge, among others, of continuing the movement to strengthen hard news coverage.
Giva, as is known, occupied management positions in journalism newsrooms at a very young age. He began his professional life at Rdio Educativa in Campinas / SP, as an intern and, later, reporter, head of reporting and journalism coordinator. He went through the website Conversa Afiada, on IG, before going to Record TV, where he was journalism director in Porto Alegre / RS, Rio de Janeiro and editor in chief at the station in So Paulo.
At CNN Brasil, he was part of the station’s creative team. He was responsible for setting up the offices in Brasilia and Rio de Janeiro. In São Paulo, he served as director of strategy, a position he held until the beginning of 2022, when he accepted an invitation from Record TV to, once again, be the station’s chief editor in São Paulo.
I return to CNN Brasil to face a challenge as big as the one we faced in structuring and founding the station in the country. When the biggest news channel in the world calls a journalist, it’s not an invitation. a summons, he said.
