The biggest Free Fire championship in Brazil will come back with everything in 2022! From February 5th, fans will be able to follow the 7th and 8th stage of the competition not only through the official channels of Garena, but also live on RedeTV! (Open TV) on weekends, starting at 1 pm, with a recap of the rounds at 11:30 pm on Mondays, and by SPACE (PayTV) every Monday, starting at 8 pm.
This year’s Garena Esports season will consist of two stages of the LBFF, which guarantee places for the world championships in the category, the Free Fire World Series (FFWS). More details will be released soon. In total, there will be more than R$ 2 million in prizes, distributed in national competitions throughout the year.
“We are always looking for innovation in how we bring more engaging experiences to our fans. The LBFF will be the first electronic game competition to have simultaneous transmission on open and closed television networks, in addition to the already traditional streaming platforms. In this way, we hope that LBFF and Free Fire fans have, directly from the comfort of their homes, a range of options to cheer for their idols and teams from one of the biggest national Esports leagues”, comments Vinícius Junqueira, Communications Manager in Garena.
This year’s championships arrive with structural changes and improvements motivated not only by the careful analysis of feedback from professional players and the community, but also by the constant desire to improve all processes, especially those involving the safety and integrity of the competition.
“We believe in innovative partnerships. The union between an open television, a cable TV and the largest global developer in the mobile games industry, creator of the most versatile and democratic game in the world, elected the best mobile game of 2021, which records astronomical numbers of downloads and record players daily assets, tends to be a national success story. The sum of these properties enhances the project even more, giving strength to a completely integrated and 360° commercial plan”, says Amilcare Dallevo Neto, head of Sales and Value Creation da RedeTV!
LBFF with a new face
The LBFF, the game’s official competition in Brazil, will have two stages this year: LBFF 7 and LBFF 8, with total prize pools of R$ 745,000 each. The champions will receive R$ 105 thousand, while the 2nd and 3rd places will win R$ 85 thousand and R$ 75 thousand, respectively. Teams that place between 4th and 12th earn R$ 53,333 each.
The LBFF 7 Series A, the first stage of the year, will start on Saturday, February 5th, with three matches a week, always on Saturdays and Sundays (1 pm), in addition to Mondays (8 pm), with the grand final scheduled for April 16th.
new casters
With in-person matches at the LBFF studios, the drop presentation will also have a new face. In 2022, Serie A will be led by Camilota, MurilloShooow, Samuca, Carlos, Croft, Pires, Carol Bombshell and Joker. Series B will be led by Acelora, Ferrantini, UmaNoob, SuGames, Isa13 and will feature narrations and reports by Carlos, Bombshell and Joker.
Samuca is already known in the Free Fire universe. In addition to being a BOOYAH! streamer, he recently participated in the ToonTubers League, an esports league promoted by Cartoon Network, owned by the WarnerMedia group, in partnership with Garena. Carlos is already a veteran of the competition and, since LBFF 6, has been a confirmed presence in the series A lives.
Croft was the first (and only, so far) female coach in the LBFF A-series, at the time with Team Coda Solid. In addition to taking the team to the Free Fire elite, he commanded a campaign that made the team continue in the A series (between stages 5 and 6). Now, she returns to the competition stage as a match commentator.
The team is also composed of Pires, world champion of Free Fire by Corinthians in 2019, who will bring the athlete’s look to the matches, while Isa13 will bring the look of those who are used to cameras, since until recently she was an influencer of Pain Gaming .
New Free Fire Championship and World Cup
The two stages of the LBFF in 2022 will guarantee places in the Free Fire World Series (FFWS), the game’s world championship, which will have itspremieres in May 2022, between the 14th and 21st. The winners will have the opportunity to defend Brazil against the world’s top teams. Like the LBFF, the championship will also be broadcast on RedeTV! and in SPACE.
