Entries for the Champions League in CS:GO ended on December 31, 2021. There were 84 teams registered in the Open Phase and 8 professional teams invited, which start in the playoffs of the competition. Igor Rick, Product Owner of NSC Comunicação and one of the organizers of the Champions Cup, spoke about the success of the entries – “We got a good number of participants since it is our first edition of the Cup, now this January we will have the matches. Phase Open
The Open Phase will have the participation of 84 teams that are divided into 14 groups. Each group will have 6 teams, facing each other in best-of-one matches, the best team from each group and the two best runners-up will be classified for the final dispute. The 16 teams that remained, play a final confrontation, ending with the 8 teams classified for the playoffs.
In this Open Phase, most teams are amateurs, with the presence of university teams such as AATIF, UFSC Titans, UFSCar Fire and UFMT Turuna. In addition, the presence of some professional teams Santos e-Sports, Cruzeiro Esports, Redragon and CSA. The groups looked like this:

Great teams from the Brazilian and South American scene
As we saw above, the Open Phase will have 84 teams in contention for 8 places for the playoffs. Santos e-Sports, Cruzeiro Esports, Redragon and CSA are the first big teams to show up in the competition. Another eight teams have been invited and are confirmed for the Champions Cup, starting directly in the playoffs.
MIBR Academy
The MIBR team is one of the most traditional when we talk about Counter-Strike, founded in 2003, the tag had its heyday in Counter-Strike 1.6, reaching Global Offensive. In July of this year, the MIBR Academy was created with young talents from the national competitive scene.
In Serie B of the Gamers Club League, the team reached the playoffs of the competition. In addition to the monthly League, the team has participated in other championships since its inception, such as the IQ Option, Good Game XP Circuit, Logitech G Challenge 2021, Razer Invitational, DreamHack Open and the CBCS Retake Series Season 2, all of which are qualifiers. Now, for the beginning of 2022, the team will have the Champions Cup as an objective, aiming to prepare for the new season that begins.
Young Gods
GODSENT is a Swedish eSports organization that is managed by former professional CS:GO player Markus “pronax” Wallsten. In January of this year, the team signed the Brazilian lineup led by the experienced Epitácio “TACO” de Melo, and is currently in the Top 20 of the best teams in the world. In September, the return of the GODSENT Academy was announced, which was renamed here as Young Gods, inactive since 2016. Following up, 9z Team is another Argentinian team that joins Isurus in the CS:GO Champions Cup. The Argentina team is one of the highlights in the South American leagues and also in Brazil.
