Far beyond the sandwiches and experiences that customers love, in its second year at Lollapalooza Brazil, McDonald’s is also taking unprecedented experiences to the Interlagos Circuit and its Recipe of the Future, the socio-environmental performance platform of Arcos Dorados, which operates the network in 20 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.
To make this possible, the brand arrives at the event with a diverse team that operates under the philosophy Service Cooling, in which each individual is free to express themselves as they identify and feel good, generating good moments being who they are and, thus, reaching their maximum potential. Everyone will be ready to kill the #FomeDeMéqui and enhance the fans’ good times in a restaurant built with sustainable initiatives, ranging from the use of solar panels to the correct management of waste.
Mariana Scalzo, Communications Director for McDonald’s in Brazil, comments:
“Being at one of the biggest music festivals, reinforcing our mission with the planet, with people and the consumer experience brings us even closer to our audience, who get to know in practice actions that are carried out daily in our restaurants, but which often has little visibility, such as our commitments to promoting a more environmentally responsible operation and offering opportunities that make a difference in people’s lives.”
Mega structure with a focus on sustainability
In an area of more than 1200m², McDonald’s will build a mega restaurant that reflects the brand’s commitment to sustainability goals, from the structure – made of OSB wood, an environmentally responsible material – to the separation, reuse and recycling of waste – like the oil used in the kitchen, which will be sent for recycling, as happens regularly in restaurants throughout Brazil.
In addition, stimulating the circular economy, the waste generated from the operation will be separated and reused through partnerships signed with the official producer of the event, T4F: recyclable items will be sent to cooperatives, while organic waste will be sent to composting processes and waste for power generation.
The brand will also have 6 solar panels to light the LEDs of a giant version of its iconic M inside the festival. The clean energy generated will also supply five cell phone charging totems, ensuring that the public is always connected, without leaving sustainability aside. And, while they wait for the loading, they can wait resting on one of the six benches produced with recycled materials in the composition, including Big Mac boxes.
The experience is provided by a new and exclusive space inspired by McDonald’s most iconic sandwich, the Big Mac. There, the public will have a variety of activities, such as an assembly line inspired by memory games with lights and sounds to discover how fast you can build a sandwich, as well as scenarios for photos and giveaways specially designed for the marathon of shows. It will also be possible to compete for personalized items in an exclusive air machine full of prizes.
