GUT São Paulo, a global and independent agency, announces the promotion of Valéria Barone and Bruno Brux. Barone, who was acting as managing director, takes over as CEO, while Brux, who was executive creative director (ECD), becomes the agency’s CCO. In four years, GUT São Paulo has become one of the most disruptive agencies in Brazil and the second in the ranking of the most creative independent agencies in the world.
With works that break the standards of traditional advertising and transcend the universe of advertising, GUT’s mission is to become one of the most diverse and creative independent agency networks in the world. The network has seven offices around the world – Miami, Los Angeles, Buenos Aires, Mexico City, Toronto, São Paulo and, most recently, Amsterdam.
In São Paulo, the office has 191 talents who together put on the street celebrated and awarded works such as Feed Parade by Mercado Livre – the first Cannes Grand Prix of the GUT network – Heinz Hidden Spots, the most awarded Brazilian campaign in the world in 2022, among others.
Valéria and Brux comment on the promotion at GUT São Paulo:
“This is a new moment for GUT São Paulo. We completed five years of the network’s global presence and, in four years of national operation, we consolidated our operation with creative deliveries of excellence. In the last year alone, we increased our talent team by 45%, always considering the principles that guided us in building a strong agency that, above all, puts people first.”
With diversified activities, Valéria adds knowledge in sectors that go beyond advertising. A dentist by training and a partner in trendy restaurants, she worked at Hyper Island as a Business Leader and Facilitator before leading GUT. She accounts for a career consolidated in more than 15 years of experience in the advertising market, with a trajectory honored in the 2022 edition of Woman To Watch.
Brux – the most awarded creative executive in the world in 2023 according to The Drum ranking – began his career in London, where he lived and worked for 10 years. In Brazil, he has also worked at Ogilvy and Grey.
