The word snack has different meanings, from snacks even the nickname of a pagoda icon, Paulo Salgado. With a joke, Elma Chips takes inspiration from the nostalgia of the 90s, launching the promotion “Elma Chips The Snack”, starring singer Salgadinho, and with cash prizes.
Every day a consumer can earn an allowance of R$ 5 thousand, during the period of one year. In addition, the promotion also offers thousands of instant prizes of 50 and 100 reais in credits, delivered in the app PicPay. Credits are valid for mobile recharges, payment of purchases, gift cards and several other items. The prizes total more than BRL 8 million for the public.
The action will take place until March 2, and consumers must look for the code on the packaging and follow the instructions located on the promotional strips attached to the product, on the website and in promotional materials that can be found in physical stores or digital.
The campaign film features singer Salgadinho, who is confused when he is chased wherever he goes with communications about “the snack that makes money”. The parody uses the rhythm of the song “Inaraí”, hit from the 90s, to promote the so-called “Give me, give me, give me some money there”. Finally, the singer is relieved to understand that, in fact, Elma Chips snacks are responsible for the awards.
“The pun between our snacks and the singer’s name is what makes our promotion light and fun in tone. The brand is always connected with its consumers, bringing yet another promotion that rewards thousands of people and engages them in a simple but super fun and proprietary story. And, to compose this atmosphere of the 90s, no one better than Salgadinho himself to clarify our doubt about who, after all, gives awards to our consumers”, reveals Cecilia Dias, vice president of marketing at PepsiCo.
