App violated a court order after failing to provide the phone numbers of a group that shared Nazi content
Telegram went offline this Wednesday (26). The application stopped sending and receiving messages in the country after a court order for telephone operators such as Oi, Vivo, Claro and Tim. Google and Apple were also included in the order, as they have app stores.
According to g1, the drop happened because Telegram did not deliver all the requested data to the Federal Police, which is investigating the groups that encouraged the anti-democratic acts that took place in Brasilia on January 8.
The application even delivered part of the data, but did not provide the phone numbers of participants in a group that shared Nazi content.
Failure to comply with the court order caused the Brazilian Justice to increase the fine to Telegram, which passed BRL 1 million per day for refusing to provide information.
