May 4th internationally celebrates one of the most beloved franchises in the geek world
The most special day of the year for Star Wars fans has arrived. May 4th is known worldwide as Star Wars Day, the day on which fans of the franchise gather to celebrate the story created by George Lucas.
The date was chosen many years ago by a pun on the popular phrase from the film: may the force be with you. In English, the date is read as “May Fourth”, which is just like “may the force”. Because it was popularized among fans, when Disney acquired LucasFilm, the company made May 4th official as “Star Wars Day”.
Joining the celebration wave, some brands bet on humorous and creative actions.
