According to Serasa Experian, the number of bankruptcy filings in Brazil increased by 34% in January 2023, compared to the same period of the previous year. Already a 2023 survey by McKinsey & Company concluded that about a third of companies worldwide were facing serious difficulties in the economy, still due to the pandemic.
In the opposite direction is the performance of Sankhya, one of the most relevant companies providing corporate management in Brazil, which, in addition to exceeding expectations, recorded a historic number in its revenue for the first quarter of 2023. The company grew by 34% compared to the same period last year, and a 44% growth in its recurring revenue, which already represents 83% of the company’s entire revenue.
“We hit all of our growth targets in the last three months. This was possible due to teamwork in the execution of a strategy aligned with the needs of our market, and also because we offer a very differentiated solution, with greater flexibility and autonomy for companies to evolve their management”, says Breno Riether, CGO of Minas Gerais Sankhya.
The numbers are an example of the success of companies outside the Rio-SP axis. According to data from the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae), in 2020, the Northeast region created the most jobs in small businesses, followed by the South region. And according to information from B3, the participation of investors residing outside São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro jumped to more than 50%.
To keep up with this scenario, Sankhya also reinforces its expansion and growth objectives, with the goal of earning R$1 billion by 2025. Already based on these parameters, in the last three months, the company hired 130 people for the team and opened four units , in the Northeast, South and Southeast regions.
“We will continue to invest in technology to meet the real needs of our customers. Even with expressive results, we spared no efforts to launch news. One of them, including, is the integration of our ‘manager online‘ with ChatGPT, which will support managers in interpreting the main business performance indicators, and which is already in the testing phase with some clients. This will certainly make our solution more complete and attractive”, concludes Breno.
Sankhya is a company with around 30 years of experience, and has more than 20,000 customers. In 2020, the mining company received a contribution of R$425 million invested by the sovereign fund of Singapore, the GIC. This transaction marked one of the largest investments in softwares country management. It has also incorporated three companies into its portfolio over the past two years, and plans to continue expanding its operations this year.
