Last Tuesday (23) Adnews “entered” Publicis, one of the largest and most important advertising agencies in Brazil, to get to know up close (and in an exciting way) the ‘Entre’, an incredible initiative that should be disseminated, replicated and promoted in all other agencies and companies in the country. The program has already trained 120 professionals, in addition to hiring part of the students for Publicis Brasil and the group’s agencies.
The ‘Between’ program is a two-month free course focused on preparing women for the creative field. In all, 30 women will be selected to participate in the course. And this year, already in its 5th edition, unlike other years, 85% of the vacancies are directed to black and indigenous women, and 10% to trans women, proving that when managers and employees have a transforming vision and are engaged in making the difference in the world, benefiting society as a whole, organizations are able to make initiatives like this legitimately viable.
“Today I am one of the few women who occupy an ECD chair in Brazil, and at C-Level, we are even fewer. ‘Entre’ exists to change this reality. The project has already trained 120 women, impacting the entire sector with the specialization of new talents. It is an action that fills us with pride”, highlights Dani Ribeiro, executive director of Publicis Brasil.
For the second consecutive year, Publicis has partnered with Carreira Preta, a consultancy in corporate and educational solutions in diversity for inclusion and social integration. Among explanations about the project, objectives, goals and the legacy behind ‘Entre’, brilliantly presented by the CEO of Publicis Brasil, Edu Lorenzi, and by Dani, we had the exciting testimonials of Deh Bastos, Creative Director at Publicis; Meire Rose, Carreira Preta consultant and mentor; and Priscilla Turíbio, executive and project manager at Carreira Preta, who felt (firsthand) the difficulties of having a career as a woman, overcame prejudices, and today, occupy leadership chairs in one of the largest advertising agencies in the country.
“The ‘Between’ is a great booster for the careers of the participants, and it generates a movement of representativeness and much-needed equity. The program is carried out with great professionalism and care so that the students are able to take the next step in their careers in a safer way, which is an inspiration for the entire market. It is a great pride to be part of another edition and contribute to the history of these women”, says Priscilla.
At the event, there was also no shortage of testimonials from black women who were impacted by the course and had the opportunity to transform their lives and those of everyone around them. The speeches drew tears from everyone present. Examples of this are former students Giulia Ramos, Content supervisor at Publicis Brasil (from the ‘Entre’ 2020 class), and Victoria Santos, RTV intern (from the ‘Entre’ 2022 class), invited by Publicis to illustrate the pieces of the next phases of the campaign, which started with Bianca Santos, a creative at Publicis and also a former student. Today, in addition to positions of responsibility at the agency, these women have a greater purpose: to continue making ‘Entre’ open more and more doors and transform other people’s lives. Representing the portal at the event, the Adnews partner and female spokesperson for the vehicle, Cathy Birle, was quite moved by the presentations.
“Like I always say, if you can do something great, do it. If you can make a difference, do it. The moment is always now. May we build a legacy for new generations to have a more egalitarian, inclusive and dignified world. This is the meaning of life and also the main purpose of Adnews: to publicize initiatives that transform people’s lives and Communication”, she declares.
The Adnews team congratulates Agência Publicis and everyone involved in the program, as well as the black women who gave true lessons in life, resilience and encouragement. This legacy is for everyone, regardless of skin color.
About the Program
Mostly taught by Publicis professionals, the ‘Between’ Program classes they bring practical and contemporary content, in addition to technical visits to the offices of clients served by the agency and even guest appearances.
The selection is completely virtual. After enrolling, candidates will undergo a screening to analyze their adequacy to the program’s profile. Those selected for the next phase must send a video with a quick presentation and the resolution of a case. Classes will start on the 19th of July. Most will be online, but there is the possibility of face-to-face classes, in the city of São Paulo (SP).
People from all over the country, aged 18 or over, who are studying any semester or who have already graduated from courses in Advertising, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations and related areas, with or without experience in the creative area, can apply.
