The station’s programming joins other brands that already made up the content hub’s portfolio.
Watch Brasil announced a partnership with Globo with the aim of improving the experience of its platform users. The programming adds to other brands that already made up the content hub’s portfolio.
With the agreement, Watch Brasil providers and subscribers now have Globo, including free-to-air TV programming, closed channels such as sportv, GNT, Multishow, Futura, Gloob, Gloobinho, Universal, Viva, Canal Brasil and Canal Off. In addition to pay-per-view programming, such as Premiere, Telecine and Big Brother channels.
Globo has developed several partnerships with internet service providers (ISPs), with a focus on expanding the offer of its channels in a booming market. The partnership with Watch is one more step in this direction, said Fernando Ramos, director of Strategic Distribution Partnerships at Globo.
In 2022, Watch Brasil signed agreements with 450 internet service providers (ISPs) as customers. In May 2023, that number reached 615, with around 1.7 million subscribers.
With the public’s strong demand for quality entertainment and the need to concentrate content on a single platform, adding this benefit when purchasing internet plans is a strong strategy for ISPs. Bringing Globo into this fundamental context for this segment, said Maurcio Almeida, president and co-founder of Watch Brasil.
The service is approved by the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel). The Power + Globo package will be available to new customers and will be offered as an upgrade to the existing customer base.
Adding value with content is a premise for the sustainability of our provider partners. This partnership with Globo comes at a time of great maturity at Watch, further strengthening our portfolio strategy. We guarantee our customers the possibility of offering their subscribers bundles integrated with their broadband in different price positions, added Andr Santini, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Watch Brasil.
