Today working in Florida, entrepreneur, who is considered one of the best Brazilian brokers in the USA, is preparing to launch a book
For Andr Duek, the key to creating a successful career in entrepreneurship is having an entrepreneurial mindset, thinking long term, but always acting in the short term. According to the São Paulo native, this is how he accumulates 35 years of experience in the market as a serial entrepreneur.
The professional graduated in business administration with a postgraduate degree in business and an MBA from Fundao Getlio Vargas. His career began in Brazil, where he lived for 40 years and made a career at Grupo Forum Triton de Modas, until he reached the position of CEO and led the company’s sale process in 2008.
After the sale, he saw opportunities in sports marketing, investment, restaurants and another fashion brand.
In order to start a career outside Brazil, in 2012 he moved with his family to Miami, in the United States, where he founded a real estate boutique, Duek Realty, which was acquired in 2020 by the global company ONE Sothebys International Realty.
Duek also invested in the creation of the first specialized rental company for Brazilian partners in the country and, recently, started a business education startup, the BRZ Group.
He is currently focused on US real estate, rental and co-ownership of motorhomes in Florida, and developing content on entrepreneurship, branding, innovation, leadership, and international business through a new executive education company.
Having interests in multiple segments of the industry sets Duek apart. His enthusiasm created the ability to see opportunities. He attributes this quality to his years at the Forum Triton Group.
The school I had was the Triton Forum Group, which taught me a lot, as I had the opportunity to work in 18 positions in the years I was there, which opened my mind to my professional development, being able to work in five different sectors, in two supercompetitive countries, says the executive.
Achievements
Duek believes that entrepreneurship is one of the greatest tools for social transformation. It doesn’t matter if you are employed in a small company, or a partner in a large company, the lessons that entrepreneurship brings to people’s lives are what fascinate me, he says.
With what he believes to be a mentality of entrepreneurial power, he achieved his professional goals, considering the greatest of them recognition by North Americans as one of the best Brazilian brokers in the United States, through two national rankings in the sector.
motorsport
Although motorsport is yet another business opportunity for Duek, who is dedicated to commentating on the sport, it is also one of his greatest passions.
Sports cars and motorsport have always been my passion since I was a boy, but, due to lack of resources, I started my karting career very late, at the age of 18, which later became a profession as a driver, sports marketing agent, commentator and narrator. I can’t live without racing, where I made my best friends and had the greatest pleasures of my life, reveals Andr.
The future
André is preparing for the launch of his book, with the theme Entrepreneurial power mentality. In addition to betting serially on international business and working as a business advisor and speaker.
For the future, he has plans to give back to society what he has learned in his nearly 40-year career. Duek’s desire to contribute in some way to the success of new entrepreneurs.
A message
Duek takes the opportunity to leave a message to those who, at some point, stopped believing in themselves: Support your family, study and work harder than most. Be persistent, patient, focus and be honest, because time will reward you, he concludes.
