The FSB Group launches this Thursday (1st) its first Source Guide – Female Voices, which brings together more than 250 spokespersons from FSB Comunicação’s client companies, Loures, Giusti and F5.
“Our purpose is to facilitate access by newsrooms to these names and increase female representation in press coverage. It is our first work, the starting point for building a large database of sources. We are aware that it is not complete, but we decided to start so that other names can join them in new editions of the Guide”, highlights Gabriela Wolthers, partner of the FSB Group.
The most recent edition of McKinsey’s Women In The Workplace study shows that while there has been “modest progress”, women are still extremely underrepresented in leadership roles. Furthermore, female leaders are changing jobs at the highest rates ever observed by the survey, which is now in its 8th edition, and at higher rates than male leaders.
“It is natural that this also reflects on journalistic coverage, but we have seen an effort by the vehicles to amplify the female voice, hence the idea of gathering sources in a single document”, adds Gabriela Forlin, managing partner of FSB Comunicação.
The expectation is that the guide will be updated periodically, and that in the next versions, it will be able to address other aspects of diversity within the female audience, such as race and ethnicity, sexual orientation and people with disabilities. In this first edition, spokespersons who declare themselves to be women and who hold important positions in their companies, whether in leadership or in a specific area of knowledge, were listed. In all, there are more than 250 professionals from sectors such as agribusiness, consumer goods, education, energy, finance, industry and IT.
The Source Guide is an initiative of Aliadas, one of the affinity groups of Ação Diversidade, the FSB Group’s internal Diversity, Equity and Inclusion program.
