The Women’s Music Event, the biggest gathering of women in the country’s music industry, will start soon. Starting on June 15th, the event has just announced the extensive schedule of its seventh edition. There will be four days with panels, masterclassesworkshops, shows and a lot of exchange of experiences in four places in the city of São Paulo (SP): at the Mário de Andrade Library, at Dom José Gaspar Square, at the House Of Things and at Casa Natura Musical.
The godmother of this year’s event will be Karol Conká. The artist, who has maintained a consolidated relationship with WME since its inception, will have a moment dedicated to her work during the program and will receive several honors.
With the support of Heineken, for the third consecutive time as official beer and master sponsor, the Women’s Music Event has tickets available on the Sympla platform, and tickets for the shows will be revealed soon. The event also has the support of Warner Music Brasil, Warner Chappell Brasil, Deezer, Som Livre, Ingrooves, Natura Musical, Ecad Oficial, Abramus Artes, UBC, The Orchard Brasil and Ellus.

Chest
At just 21 years old, the artist has already accumulated more than 300 compositions in Portuguese and English.
In 2020, he released the EP “Azul”, in which he mixes R&B, blues e neo soul with Bahian music. Your show, presented by Deezerwill be on the 15th of June, at the House of Things, at 8 pm.

Assucena is a Bahian singer from Vitória da Conquista (BH), who debuted in a solo career with a show in honor of Gal Costa.
He began his artistic career in 2011, in the university band “Preto por Preto”, which later became “As Bahias e a Cozinha Mineira”, and later, “As Baías”. In 2022, she released her first single solo and authorial, “Parti do alto”, and then “Boy skin color of jambo”. The artist will perform on June 16, at Praça Dom José Gaspar, starting at 7 pm.
MC Soffia
Soffia Gomes da Rocha Gregório Correia, better known as MC Soffia, is a rapperBrazilian singer and songwriter.
At the age of 19, she is known for the strength of the lyrics of her songs, which talk about racism, sexism, prejudice and female empowerment. Her presentation will be held on June 17th, at Praça Dom José Gaspar, also starting at 7pm.
Drink Barbosa
Born in the South Zone of São Paulo, Drik Barbosa has been composing since he was 14 years old.
A year later, he showed the public his first rhymes, participating in the presentation of “Batalha do Santa Cruz”, through which he met orap. WME foresees its presence at the close of the edition, on June 18, at Casa Natura Musical, from 5 pm. Ticket withdrawal will be on site, and more information will be revealed soon.
Mulamba
Mulamba is a band founded in 2015 by six women, who address themes such as female empowerment, violence against women, feminism and gender equality.
In addition to the artists present on stage, Mulamba employs female professionals in its backstage, such as roadies, photographers, sound technicians and other professionals. O show by the band is also scheduled for June 18 at Casa Natura Musical, starting at 5 pm. It will also be a farewell to the group, which announced a break in activities.
Rachel Reis
Owner of the hit “Maresia”, released in July 2021, Rachel Reis is a 25-year-old Bahian singer born in Feira de Santana (BA).
The artist is also present at the event’s closing show, on June 18, at Casa Natura Musical, from 5 pm.
Women’s Music Event
The Women’s Music Event (WME) is a music, business and technology platform created to increase women’s prominence in the music industry. Conceived by Claudia Assef and Monique Dardenne in 2016, the platform debuted in March 2017 with WME, the largest gathering of women in the music industry in São Paulo (SP), attracting over a thousand people in debate panels, workshops, shows and parties. Since then, it has held six editions.
In 2019, WME launched its Professional Register application. The app is an interactive and more robust version of the Professionals Bank, an area that already exists on the Women’s Music Event website, and which brings together records of women who work in different areas of the music chain, from the most technical to the most artistic activities.
In 2021, WME launched Selo Igual, an initiative created to equalize line-ups and music event teams, inviting companies, festivals, agencies and brands related to music to turn this key. Are eligible to receive the seal festivals, parties, clubs, stock houses and other companies that have at least half of their teams composed of women, non-binary and/or trans people, considering the artistic and production area. More than 40 initiatives already have the seal, including Se Rasgum, Coquetel, Bananada, SIM, Balaclava, Sennheiser, UBC, Ingrooves, Nova Brasil FM, Agência Lema, Mynd, Heavy House, among others.
