Agency announces the launch of an internal studio dedicated to the creation and characterization of virtual influencers
For some time now, virtual influencers of brands and celebrities have multiplied on social networks and, with the growth of Web3 and the possibilities of the gamer universe and AI, an even greater increase in this type of technology is expected. With an eye on market news, Cheil announces the launch of the in-house studio dedicated to the creation and characterization of virtual influencers, with the objective, at this first moment, to give personality to Samsung’s SAM.
With a team of professionals specialized in the market and in large productions, this new area aims to create assets with greater agility for the creative process of films, different contents and events, developing new positions and animations that follow the pace of production of the character, making it a true digital influencer.
After the development and success of Samsung’s digital influencer, SAM, Cheil realized the need to work in more detail on the personality, the avatar that emulates even more complex human behaviors and features that requires a multidisciplinary team. In addition, the character has a style, a language, a life with personal tastes, costumes, in short, almost a life of its own. As such, Cheil’s new studio is staffed with top-notch professionals to provide due traction, engagement and the need to create more content opportunities.
The new area makes assets for social networks such as new images, stills in scenarios, new positions and short animations in different environments. In addition, it works on the development of a more humanized communication that is closer to the consumer, making it possible for brands to have greater control over the narrative of their avatars, preventing, in the future, any image setbacks.
“The team consists of 3D production, Look Dev 3D modeler, 3D Animator, 3D generalist, composer, art director and motion designer. Each action of the digital influencer is done by different people, one person takes care of the clothes, the other takes care of the movements, of actions, personality, and so on. In the case of SAM, which is our great case, we continue to produce great films with her to talk about all experiences in a connected and integrated way. The team is being prepared to corroborate with deliveries and together with content planning to deliver these assets”, says Felipe Andrade, ECD at Cheil.
